Why should I win? FIRST POST!! LOL

I'm on the fence about upgrading. We may purchase a new computer soon, and will probably get Win8 on that, but I'm still not sold on the Metro UI.

I'd love to win because I want to try Windows 8. I currently have Windows 7 and I'm curious to see how much different it would be. I develop software apps for use in my field of fire safety. Thank you for the giveaway and good luck to everyone.

I'd love to win to try Windows 8 in an educational setting at my HS...I'm considering upgrading to 8 when we get new hardware...

I should win SOMETHING because I'm having the in-laws staying at my house for 2 WEEKS!! Windows 8 would be a nice upgrade to my new computer. Always up for a change.

would like a free copy

I deserve to win because I advise people how to efficiently use the Windows 8 desktop, not like Microsoft wants them to use it.

#1: You are NOT REQUIRED to use the metro start screen like Microsoft's commercials and all pictures of advertised Windows 8 machines imply. To make getting out of it faster, move metro's Desktop tile to the upper left position and hit the enter key. Every time you boot the PC when metro shows up hit enter and go to the desktop. Metro is of incredibly little use to a user of desktop programs. However, it is what it is. We can live with Metro and still not use it.

I would like to win because I believe Windows 8 pro uses low resources but can handle a large amount of memory. I am planning a build and so far I have assembled a Biostar Z77X Hi Fi MB, Kingston HyperX 128 GB SSD, Kingtson HyperX quad channel 16GB DDR3 kit, and a giant Thermalright Silver Arrow SB-E CPU cooler. This OS would put me one case, PSU, CPU from a dream computer.

I deserve to win because I, and I alone, understand that we stand on the precipice of a new age; that the entire mobile landscape is starting to shift and that we few, we happy few will bear witness to the beginnings of this new age.

Come… Come… follow me into that new age. Embrace the coming of future’s dawn and together we will lead the world past the iconic constructs of the stodgy, hackneyed interfaces of iOld and CopyDroid.
Follow me now and together we will remember these days fondly in our twilight with bold tales told to wide-eyed grandchildren – “Yes little Timmy, I was there when the world changed, and I led the change”!

Now just give me a copy of Windows 8 to make this come true (and a Nokia 920 would help too).

I deserve to win because I went to the Windows 8 & Surface Launch in NEW YORK, three days before a hurricaine hit.....and they did not give us either a surface not windows 8 copy....the food was bad...and I had to rent a car and drive home because my flight was cancelled! And because of that, I will not be installing Windows 8 for at least a few more days. :)

I deserve to win because I have a new gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 mobo with a AMD fx-8350 8-core. I would like to see how fast Win8 is on my new rig. ;)

Just being honest here. But I deserve to win because I love BACON> :-) and Windows 8 smells like bacon.

Somebody will win. Might as well be me.

Of course I should win... I always win.
Windows 8 is a no-brainer! All the goodness of Win7, plus a unified touch-centric ecosystem from the Phone to pc to Xbox, and a functional tablet platform to boot! Woohoo!

I've grown up using Windows and can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Windows 8 and maybe even a Surface. I'm upgrading because I love having the latest and greatest, of course!

Win 8 is a bold move forward and Surface will set the bar for new hardware standards. Awesome OS for performance and complete touch support is very forward thinking.

Bob, I trust you. It's a strange thing, the older I get the worse my eyes get.

That's why I need an operating system with Large, Live Tiles that i can easily see.

#21 By 895397 (143.166.255.43) at 11/9/2012 8:10:42 AM
I would like to win so that I can setup a seamless connection between my desktop and mobile devices. Even If I do not win I will be upgrading to WIN 8.

#22 By 359648 (162.83.184.143) at 11/10/2012 6:03:08 PM
I deserve to win because I can influence other people about whether or not to get Windows 8. I'll probably get it on a computer that's new enough for the $15 upgrade, but I'm still unsure about switching everything.

I tweeted here: https://twitter.com/alee67/status/267416330884489216 and "liked" and shared the Facebook post as Andrew Lee.

On second thought.. I don't want Windows 8 after looking at the newegg reviews.

Wow, I mean wow.

#25 By 28801 (129.33.202.164) at 11/12/2012 2:24:17 PM
#24: So you don't want a free, modern OS based on other people's reviews whom you've never met?

Activewin, please remove donpacman from the drawing eligibility and add Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne in place of him.
