Microsoft sending mixed messages about Windows futures with ‘Fiji’?
Time: 09:40 EST/14:40 GMT | News Source: ZDNet | Posted By: Robert Stein

After a brief blip of news following the mid-July release to manufacturing of Microsoft “Fiji,” it’s back to radio silence again. But the quiet shouldn’t be interpreted as all is well. In fact, a number of Fiji testers who asked not to be named and with whom I’ve communicated are not happy with how the test process for Windows Media Center TV Pack (Fiji) was conducted or the product that resulted. In fact, one tester made a convincing argument that Microsoft is doing more harm than good with Fiji, by sending mixed messages around whether users should wait for Windows 7 or upgrade now to Windows Vista coupled with Fiji.

Media Center struggled when it was OEM only; now MS is making the same mistake again.
Something is really wrong with the upper management of the company. I really hope Bill Gates would reconsider and come back ASAP.
Besides it would make a lot of sense to release the Media Center Update as a free update to owners of Vista "Ultimate" Edition but again...

#1: How would Bill Gates fix a problem that he was involved with creating? Its not like he left years ago. He only recently gave up day to day oversight of the company. Therefore, MS will be better off letting existing management, and their minions, find their own way. Better still, eliminate some of the layers of management.

At least BG was able to recognize the issue and correct it; now they are back to the same behaviour.
Btw I agree with you: send them all to sell refrigerator at some megastore.
