2012 Marks Final CES Keynote for Microsoft | |

After thinking about questions like these, we have decided that this coming January will be our last keynote presentation and booth at CES. We’ll continue to participate in CES as a great place to connect with partners and customers across the PC, phone and entertainment industries, but we won’t have a keynote or booth after this year because our product news milestones generally don’t align with the show’s January timing. |

| I have a feeling this may not have been Microsoft's decision, or at least not fully their decision. The last couple keynotes by Ballmer were uninspiring at best, and occasionally painful to watch. It seemed like they got complacent with the opportunity, perhaps because they have so many opportunities to do other announcements throughout the year. I think if you were young and scrappy and had that audience, you'd move heaven and earth to make every moment and every word count. Microsoft started to look like they were phoning it in. |

| I think the reason is in the article. The time frame doesn't align with their release schedule. No need to assume black helos. |
