Until Microsoft shows a scene where a dance goes from the tiles start screen to the desktop most consumers remain confused for now. I have to show our customers that Windows 8 has a desktop. Most of these people want Start8 or Classic Shell installed, when show to that they can both boot to the desktop and access the Start screen as needed. I take the time to show them the useful Start screen apps, like Weather, and how to split screen (slide cursor to the deep lower left corner, slide up quickly, right mouse click the app and select snap left) the app while on the desktop. This wins over most Windows 8 skeptics/doubters about Windows 8, at least in our rural area. Critics of Windows 8 that I've spoken with don't want to be confused by the fact that the desktop still exists and can be see at boot time. They hate Windows 8 because of the TV commercials that make it look like unusable to them without a desktop.
MSFT: stop the dancing and show desktop users, in TV ads, how the desktop, whether you like it or not, can be easily accessed and you might see sales of Windows 8 PC's go up, instead of non-sales due to XP machines being rebuilt.

You shouldn't have to do a mod to make people like it. Windows 8 is the most user unfriendly desktop ever put out by Microsoft. Windows 95 is more user friendly than Windows 8.
Ballmer wants to kill the desktop to make room for yearly disposable machines. That's the bottom line.

Can I just say what a relief to find an individual who truly knows what theyre talking about on the net. You absolutely know how you can bring an concern to light and make it crucial. Far more consumers have to read this and recognize this side of the story. I cant think youre not far more popular for the reason that you absolutely have the gift.
