Way back in 1997 we started a little known site called ActiveIE, a site built around Internet Explorer technology and news items specifically about Internet Explorer. ActiveIE was, even back then, one of only a few web sites that dealt with Microsoft related news. Pretty quickly we built up a small following thanks both to good tips and news articles, along with various write-ups and awards for design and content from both online and in-print magazines. Quite quickly ActiveIE grew in terms of readers, content and staff with me taking on a number of great people, from Cliff who did some of the sites graphics to Sean who helped out with news items.

This article is clearly a copyright infringement of a GnR song! :)

#8 - yep most of us here would agree with you, most of it will be tweaks and improvements on what we have already achieved.

Suggestions -
1. An IGNORE feature for specific posters
2. Less Register/Inquirer type stories. These stories typically have no meat, just attention-grabbing sensational headlines. I understand they get alot of clicks on your site, but we want REAL news.
3. More commentary around Microsoft strategy. The news "behind" the headlines. WHY did MS do X. What do you think MS will do next because Company X made this particular move.
4. MS-related statistics. Constantly updated stats on how MS is doing in particular markets. For example, how many ISP subscribers have they had overtime. A chart with them and AOL/Earthlink/etc with this would be sweet. And how about WinCE penetration versus competitors. And db market share. And game consoles...

Thanks guys for all the hard work. But what I miss is IE4's cool menu bar. LOL And remember the cute CNet news banner you could keep on your desktop? I think Microsoft should put those feathures back into Internet Explorer.
