ActiveWin.com: Windows Media Player 9: How To Make A New Playlist?
Time: 05:04 EST/10:04 GMT | News Source: ActiveWin.com | Posted By: Alex Harris

Although I am sure that most people that read our site and use Microsoft products, especially Windows Media Player know this, I am sure there are people that are either new to using computers or new to Windows Media Player out there that aren't 100% sure how to make playlists. I have to be the first to admit that I was one of those people that wasn't sure how to make playlists and use to get frustrated at listening to the same song over and over again.

If experienced I.T. enthusiasts are having problems creating playlists in WMP9, then something has gone wrong over at the UI department at Microsoft.

True. But what about the non I.T. Enthusiasts that read the site?

LOL. It's ActiveWin for dummies! :)

Tomorrow, can you show us how to create Bookmarks in IE? That way, I won't have to type in the activewin.com URL every time I visit the site!

:) OK, sorry. I'm here all week, folks...

Or if you want i can just delete the editorial since it seems that it is absolutly no use to anyone and a waste of the bandwith on the internet. Sorry for insulting the obviously greater intelligence.

Paul, don't quit your day job ;) And speaking of your day job, get back to work writing the bit on IIS 6. I'd also like to learn a bit more about the web server edition of Windows .NET as Microsoft has never really marketed a version like this.

Just use Winamp 3.0 for all your music listening pleasure. Playlists are far easier to create than in Media Player 7.x, 8.x, or 9.x. Winamp is a non-bloated, highly refined piece of software. It's small to download and absolutely free (not even a banner ad).

Surely this is a tip not an editorial, it is a good tip for those of us who are new to things like this but not an Editorial.

I too would like to know how to create a play list in Windows Media Player, but I am using 8, not 9. I will wait until it's final before I download her.

dfwilcox, first of all most folks that i know who use winamp 3, prefer to use 2.x. second, wtf does bloated mean? don't even get me started on your rediculous use of that word. winamp, highly refined? Lol! FYI WMP is also free to download and comes with no banner ads. Did you have a point? Grr, you bug me.

As for playlists, I haven't had trouble making them, so have skipped the editorial. I might say, though, that I can't think of a way to make playlists which is easier than not even needing to make them. The predefined autoplaylists in WMP9 are fabulous! Can the great AOL owned WinAMP do that?

I would agree that it's not as easy to make a playlist as it should be,.
