Just because I was bored I tried to run the high def preview file on my PII 450MHZ. It accually did run, which shocked me. However it was pretty darn slow and missed a bunch of frames. I guess that means it really is time that I need to upgrade this cruddy PC.

I agree with RedHook. Plus isn't this DVD a few years old?

#1: T3 is coming out.

#3: There are plenty of people who don't own the DVD yet. Millions more people have DVD players since it was last issued.

It's a new transfer. Looks a LOT better. Not only that, the HD WM9 version IS pretty darn cool. I have a 2.53GHz P4 and it ran....barely. It took all my system resources, but it ran at full speed with few stutters. HD is the future. Makes me want more. I would have no problem with them choosing WM9 as the official HD-DVD format.

Will this play in HD on a HDTV? All I hear about is people playing it on their computer. I wish they would release more DVD's that way.

You can connect a PC to an HDTV's video input and watch at full resolution.

DVDs, if you mean standard MPEG-2 DVDs, can't hold an entire film at HDTV resolution, plus the bitrate would be too high for most players to handle.

Windows Media allows HDTV content to fit on a DVD due to its greater compression, but requires a PC for playback until Windows Media Video consumer players are available.
