I only have a Ti4400, which is fine for my stuff, but I wonder if this will close the performance gap between the FX59xx Ultra and the ATI Radeon 9800 cards?

I can only go by what I read, but apparantly ATI is kicking nVidia's butt in shader performance (apparantly the next big thing). Rumor has it this driver release was supposed to even the score.

You really didn't give much info, so I'm really guessing here...

Is your problem:

"Error Message: An Error Occurred While Windows Was Working with the Control Panel file C:\Windows\System\Desk.cpl." ?
