How Linux And The Mac Can Compete Against Windows "Longhorn"
Time: 12:56 EST/17:56 GMT | News Source: Internet Week | Posted By: Robert Stein

With the recent release of the initial Longhorn bits, we now need to start thinking about the competitive landscape for 2005, which is when the next version of Windows is likely to ship. To understand the future, we need to first look at the past, at the launch of Windows 95 and how IBM OS/2 and Apple Computer failed to compete against Microsoft. and of course MS will have to not ship longhorn!

Bottom line people: I have used OS X 10.3 since the first preview release-- the user experience sucks! It is not as good as XP was 2 years ago! They still have to catch up to XP!

What i cant understand is how any one can stand to use OS X. I finally sat down at our dual G5 for a few hours the other day and really used it- I had to power cycle the dam thing a few times becuase i could not make the spinning beach ball go a way! Cant they just at least fix that bug! I'll settle for just that 1 bug fix! I know the ip address of the servers i need to connect to so not being able to browse the network isnt so bad anymore.

#3,

And of course ONE machine having issues is an accurate view of millions of Mac users experiences. You've made it so simple and easy!

Thanks for the tip!
