Active Network Competition - Winner |

The Active Network has announced the winner of our competition, the user "humor." "Humor" came in sixth place with a total of 208 posts posted between 6-4 and 7-5. Congratulations! Humor has won a Not-for-Resale boxed copy of Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition 25 CAL worth $3999.
Methodology: Active Network has decided to disqualify the top three users listed below. In addition, the 4th user withdrew and the 5th also disqualified. The users were disqualified for spamming this past 4th weekend. In addition; some users have been posting on irrelevant posts as early as 2001. Spamming was explicitly against the rules as stated in our original post here. The numbers listed below are the results of the query for the number of comments/forum posts that were posted from 6-4 to 7-5 on stories posted from 6-4 to 7-5. We compared queries for comments posted on headlines for a range of all dates, and also compared the numbers at the beginning of last weekend at the end. From this, we were able to track down the links and identities of the spammers. No hard feelings from our standpoint on you guys though...

NOW LISTEN UP CHILDREN!
Some of you (and you know who you are), acted very childish during this contest.Let's all take a moment a look back at the idea behind this contest. This is a Windows (Microsoft) enthusiast web site right? We all come here to read news and participate in the community with other Windows and Microsoft product enthusiasts. The AW staff is doing there best to make this the best site for YOU. Of course it is in their best interest to increase traffic and viewership, etc.
I think we should all take a moment to thank Bob, and all the other AW staff for this generous offering.
Let's continue to participate and grow in this community. ActiveWin has brought us all together here.

How can a Not-For-Resale product be worth anything? By definition, a dollar amount can only be determined if it's possible for someone to pay that amount. With an NFR license, it's not possible for anyone to pay anything for the product itself.
So maybe it costs $3999 for shipping, just to get it to humor? Tell the UPS guy to say hello to everyone on the space station for me.

Congratulations humor - it's almost ironical that you won a copy of Windows though =)
Mr. Dee ... 1674 messages in a month, that's over 50 messages a day! Take a few steps away from the computer, go outside, take a breather =)

#11 Actually, the real numbers were much higher. Those numbers you see are limited to comments posted from 6-4 to 7-5 on stories posted from 6-4 to 7-5. If I include all their cheating; both phaedrus and mr. dee have well over 2000 posts each during the month.

monkeydog: Servers are stupid and do not know how to cook. They mess up everything in the kitchen, ring stuff in the wrong way, don't know what comes with what, etc... really, it would be a nightmare for you.
