Browser Add-Ons are one of the many ways that viruses, spyware, and other malware can attach to your computer and cause you grief. Browser Add-Ons are also one of the many ways that legitimate publishers can add functionality to Internet Explorer or to specific Web sites and pages.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't IE in XP SP2 have an add-on manager in addition to the popup blocker (which works very well BTW)?

If either of you had actually clicked the link, you'd see that it's a video that explains the IE Add-on manager in XP SP2.

Once again, a half-truth to weakly backpedal out of a seriously bad "fact".
But this functionality isn't available in IE itself...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/web/sp2_addonmanager.mspx
Looks like part of IE to me.
Oh, sure you can mince words and claim it's only XP, only SP2, but it's still "in IE itself".
...so other Windows versions are out of luck.
For now. I somehow doubt that all IE6 users will have to wait until the next version of IE.

As that article is nothing more than 3rd party commentary, and because Microsoft has recently reinstated the IE team, I would discount pretty much any reference you could drudge up as dated and conjecture.
But at least this was a 3rd party half-truth! Moving up, I see.
