Does anybody know if this product will provide methods for third party solutions? I'd love to see if I can write apps that take advantage of this device.

I've heard one of the problems with these devices is that the lowley little Gummi-Bear can transfer a fingerprint to them.
Is this true, or is that a wives tale?
