I have reviewed Microsoft's new Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 2000. Here is an excerpt:
The keyboard has a standard length of just over 18 inches and width of just over 8.5. The keyboard is very slim at 1.5 inches high, although still very sturdy. The design is black matte. The buttons have a very slim/sleek design. Starting from the left, there are the designated function buttons on the top part: back, forward (web buttons), volume +/-. mute, play/pause, web/home, search, and mail. These buttons are black with silver accents. Next there are the remaining standard keys i.e. calculator, num luck, cap locks, on the far right. All keys can be reassigned however by using IntelliType Pro software. The QWERTY keyboard design has been set to a curve by ergonomist to help place your your hands more naturally and provide a more comfortable feel for longer use. For accidental spills, Microsoft set an area to channel out liquids at the bottom. We'll take their word for it - so we did not test this feature.

I love how you guys keep taking off points for it being wired.
Some people don't like to waste batteries.
You also took points off because it wasn't a MS Natural keyboard? Come one, it's not advertised as a "Natural" keyboard.

I actually didnt take points off for either of those - CPUGuy, even though I prefer keyboards with those features. Notice the score - 96%...that's pretty damn good if you ask me.

That's true, you guys usually do give really low scores on reviews. Actually, come to think of it, I've never seen a score so high, I don't believe.
kaikara: 1) They only last for so long 2) Why deal with having to change batteries all the time?

#5 are you serious? the 20 seconds it takes to throw in batteries every one - two months in my wireless keyboard that gets heavy use. oh i don't know how i stand doing it. I mean i need to have replacements for remotes and other devices. So i keep a few rechargeble AA's ready to go. It is worth not having another cable getting in the way.

But the cable is STILL there, just not directly attatched the the keyboard itself.
It is still in the way, and still manages to tangle up with all the other cables, even though they never even get moved, as that is the way of the cable.
I really don't see a point in wireless keyboards.
And I HATE wireless mice.

I've been using an IBM UltraNav external (basically a T-Series Laptop keyboard in an external enclosure, with a keypad) for about 5 months now, and I have to say, it's the best keyboard I've used to date.
I still use an external mouse, but it also has the same trackpad and trackpoints if you want.
This is a great server keyboard, and they have another model called the 'travel' version that would be even better. It's smaller because it is minus the keypad.

The ActiveWin Security System (ASS for short) has been driving me nuts lately.
Even though I put my userID and password at the top when writing comments, lately after I hit post it brings up another login page. Sometimes erasing everything I wrote.
And it STILL doesn't remember logins.

#7 If you get a wireless combo you will have one base station with one cord instead of the two cords for the mouse and keyboard. Seems like a reduction in the number of cords to me. And because the base staion won't have to be moved around you can neatly tuck them away with some good cable management.

When I look around my computer room with two desktops, a Mac, four Laptops, a Server, four printers, scanners, label printers, flat-panels, networking gear, lan cables, etc...
The last thing that I'm concerned about is a mouse and keyboard cable :)

Larry, the logon is a known issue, and will be addressed in the all new AWIN. A recent attempt at trying to fix this earlier in the year failed as it's roots are pretty deep in the engine of the site. But stay tuned....it will be much improved.
