This paper provides IT professionals with an overview of Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 and describes how improvements and new features in this release of Internet Explorer will help you deploy and manage IE7, whether in large, medium, or small businesses. As you read through this paper, you will learn about the major steps forward in IE7:
• Dynamic security protection through a robust new architecture, security features that help defend against malicious software, and new ways to better protect against the theft of personal data from fraudulent Web sites, a practice known as phishing.
• Improved platform for Web development and manageability, including improved support for cascading style sheets (CSS), a rich RSS feeds platform, and robust tools for deploying and managing Internet Explorer 7 in enterprise environments.
• New user interface makes everyday tasks easier for employees with improved navigation through tabbed browsing, Web search right from the toolbar, advanced printing, easy discovery, reading and subscription to RSS feeds, and much more.

Whether you like IE or not as a browser, it seems universally accepted that the new interface SUCKS.
Why MS took away the ability to arrange the toolbars the way you want is beyond me.

That, and removed much of the customization that was seen in IE6. It was of no benefit for this change, and they surely didn't run the testing across any power users. When I am "required" to use IE7, I have found that the biggest improvements were the tabs, and the thumbnail page.

The Tabs are actually better than Firefoxes. The rest, ugh....

#3: Still the best and the originator (I believe) of tabs is Opera. Have yet to see Firefox or IE match what Opera does for tabs.
One issue we ran into with IE is that freaking "Shrink to Page" when you print something. It defaults to this all the time and you can't change it to 100%. This is one of my main complaints.

I actually prefer the tabs in FF, and the ability to fully customize FF to use as little real estate as possible.

#4,
If you are talking about the insane ability of IE to crop off the right side of pages when printing, you are right. It is irritating and all but makes IE useless for printing.
It's hard to believe that issue has survived 7 major releases.
