  Microsoft's Future Looks Grim
Time: 14:34 EST/19:34 GMT | News Source: Forbes.com | Posted By: Robert Stein

Iím not ready to write an obituary for Microsoft, but from what Iíve seen lately, things donít look promising. This is not wishful thinking. Iíve been a fan of its products for decades and am writing this column in Microsoft Word on my Windows 7 PC, which I like. The company should be in a celebratory mood. It just launched its new PC and mobile operating systems and for the first time started selling its own computer hardware ó the Surface Windows RT tablet. Its hardware partners are coming out with all sorts of new PCs featuring Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft finally has a tablet device to compete with Appleís iPad and the myriad of Android tablets.

"...and I still canít get used to having to click on tiles to launch programs."Hint: There is a big and not invisible desktop tile that lets you start programs normally form the desktop like you always have. Also, right click on a tile and select "Pin to taskbar" if there was not icon for your program, there will be now.

Why are techtards writing about an operating system that they appear unable, or unwilling, to comprehend? Rhetorical question, just ignore it.

The worst offender is TechCrunch. Every MS article is negative, and judging from the lack of quality in their Modern UI app, it's clear they just don't get it.

I agree with the article. Apple is taking over.

I didn't know I was required to. The headline says it all.
