Summary: This Hotmail upgrade offers enhancements that improve Hotmail usability for all users and also increase the appeal of subscription accounts. The most important changes are listed below:
- Custom Filter: A new simpler “Basic” custom filter option makes filtering attractive and useful to a larger audience.
- Antivirus: Virus Scanning continues to be available to all users, but virus cleaning is now available only to subscribers.
- Junk Mail Filter: The settings and interface have changed, and the delete immediately or deliver to folder settings are moving to the Junk Mail Filter page.
- Message/Attachment Size: The limit is increased for subscription accounts.
- Show me mail from: Users can now easily view Inbox mail from everyone, only people in their contacts list, or only people that aren’t in their contacts list.
- Hotmail Services Links: These are moving to a new location on the Account Name line.

Nifty. Anyone know how much Microsoft is making/losing from Hotmail?

Thanks again, Trade. I'm quite interested in seeing Thursday's numbers on MSN.

There is an article just posted about Microsoft likely exceeding forecasts. I posted some interesting numbers comparing several companies in the tech sector.

"Show me mail from: Users can now easily view Inbox mail from everyone, only people in their contacts list, or only people that aren’t in their contacts list."
