It's questions like these that i thank god microsoft did not allow win95 users to upgrade to xp. You have old hardware, that's out of date. Your cpu is above the minimum requirement (233 mhz) however it has no level2 cache. A 266 mhz celeron cpu is just as fast as a 200 mhz pentium; in other words your system does not meet the minimum requirements. No matter how much ram you add there's no way to get around that. It's like putting a new pair of tires on a very slow car, the car will still be slow.

But anyway, your leaving a big piece of the puzzle out. Since win95/98 do not support cd burning, you had to have used a 3rd party software like easy cd creator to burn these cd's.

What program did you use? Are these cdr's or cdrw's? Can you read them in another pc? Have you installed any 3rd party software for cd burning in xp? Can you read the cd's in safe mode? Have you tried the cd burning update at windows update? Can a 3rd party cd burning software see the disks?
