You're leaving too much for the imagination. Who made this computer? Did it come with xp on it? Has this ever worked?

To troubleshoot this follow this list:

-if the pc has a pentium 4 cpu down the intel hardware accelerator at intel.com. Just search google.com on intel hardware accelerator, it's the first link.

-if your using a via chipset download the drivers at viaarena.com

-if you have anything made by norton installed - uninstall it

-try setting the pagefile to 0 bytes, restart the pc, then set it to a big number like 300 mb.

-see if the pagefile is being created, it's a hidden file on c:\pagefile.sys

-do a clean boot with msconfig

-check your pc on www.microsoft.com/hcl to make sure it's compatible.
