Does this help?:
My Function Keys can be disabled interactively by pressing the defined disable key (Scroll lock is default) key. You will notice when you do this the system tray icon will change to disabled . My Function Keys will remain disabled until the Escape key is pressed again.

You can also disable a specific key by marking the Disable Function Key check box on the configuration screen. This will allow the key to be disabled in the "My Function Keys" program and allow it to be used by the original program.

For Example, the F1 key is used for HELP in many programs, while My Function Keys is running, you can use F1 to paste the text that you desire. If you wish the F1 key to be used for its original purpose (in this case help) click the Disable Function Key box. This will disable this key for the My Function Keys program.

When you are done defining your keys just minimize the program and it will sit in your System tray. Anytime you want to configure the keys again, just Right Click and hit configure - Or double click the My Function Keys icon in the system tray.
