Yikes... Can you advise what you were trying to download? Also, are you running a hardware and/or software firewall? First - good jot at doing your homework. The first STOP error indicates possible RAM problems. About the only way to check that is to have the RAM tested. First option is to check to see if replacing the RAM solves the problem. You might want to take the RAM to a local computer store that has the ability to test it. If it tests ok, on to the next step. If not, replace it. Beyond the above, it almost sounds like either a website or some program ran malicious code that ate the registry alive. This is becoming more prevalent. About your only option is to do a clean install, and make sure you have Spybot and Adaware installed. FWIW, MS's Antispyware (beta) isn't bad. I've had it catch several sites trying to plant code. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, Nvidia GeForce 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2H and D100
