If I'm understanding this correctly, the WinXP computer can see and access stuff on the Win2000 computer. However, the Win2000 computer can see but not access anything on the WinXP computer. First, is the WinXP Internet Connection Firwall turned on (on the WinXP machine)? If so, turn it off. Next, on the WinXP system, make sure that sharing is enabled on the printer.
