Can you give more specific details on your computer? i.e. motherboard, processor, RAM, video card, etc? Based on the fact this a new computer built by your friend, it sounds like either a hardware component is damaged or failing (most particularly, RAM), or that the chipset drivers for your motherboard have not been installed. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100

As above, check the RAM and other components to make sure they aren't faulty and are seated correctly. Then check to make sure all device drivers are installed - go to Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/System. Click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager button. If there's anything with a red X or ! next to it, that means the device driver is not installed. If this is the case, install the respective driver. If that doesn't fix it, time to spend some $$ and take it to a computer shop to have it checked out. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 512mb RAM, ATi Radeon 8500; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS, Nikon D2Hs and D100
