I'm not familiar with the motherboard, but chances are that it requires a driver for the motherboard so that it properly recognizes the HD. Check the documentation and the motherboard mfgr's web site for this. Usually, you will copy it to a floppy and, at the beginning of WinXP's installation, it will ask if you want to install a third party driver. You need the RAID driver first (that will allow the mobo to recognize the HD) and then the chipset drivers after you finish the install.
