That's a good question.

I assume you've been in device manager? If not right click my computer, left click manager, double click device manager, and try removing it from there.

First, look at this article:

Second, try removing it in safe mode (restart, press f8, safe mode).

Third, is that file i8042prt or 18042prt? Some 3rd party software installs a different mouse driver that has a 1 instead of a i, usually logitech.
