This computer is brand new out of the box but two years old... (Warehoused I guess) I've only used it for possibly 40-50 hours, when after trying to bring it out of hibernation or powersave it locked up and when I finally manually killed it and tried to reboot the computer will only display a black screen... The fans turn on Hard Drive cycles and lights come on to the drives but no beeps and nothing else. I've tried resetting the CMOS and checking the battery, along with checking connections, cords, and everything I could thinkof... but no luck it's Dead! I noticed that the clock was overclocking once and it prompted me and asked if I wanted to automatically update clock online... I said no. The system specs are as follows... Intel Celeron D325 (2.8 GHz), 80 GB hard disk, 1GB Ram (2DIMM), Windows XP, CD-RW (48x), DVD Rom. The Motherboard is a (MSI) # MS-6577 ver: 4.1 or HP P/N: 5187-5627 with integrated graphics, and integrated sound and 478 socket... Motherboard pic and spec sheet @ http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=bph07843 Being not the most internal computer wise person... but looking at many message boards.. The motherboard is pretty famous for failing in the integrated section of video...? But where mine was overclocking does that look more like a Power Supply Problem??? The computer is stock from the HP factory and never tinkered with and being 2 years old out of warranty... and used for only 40-50 hours!!! Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! Joe

If you overclocked it, then either the processor, RAM, parts of the motherboard, or a combination are fried. If the power comes on, then the power supply is working. Take it to a shop. Be prepared to buy a new computer. This is the reason why overclocking is stupid. You run the risk of turning your $1,000+ computer into a doorstop. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 1800 - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Live Value; Windows XP Professional, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
