Well it basically says it in the title, I wish to connect my laptop to my PC. Here's the story; I use my PC quite frequently and as a result of this, my fairly old moniter blew out and is now nothing more than junk. @ssuch, I am left with a perfectly fine hard drive inside of my PC tower but no way at all to access it as I am quite poor and unable to afford a new moniter until I save up some money. However this will take quite awhile I was was wondering if it is at all possible to link up my PC tower and my laptop so I can use the laptop as a sort of make-shift moniter. I know it's possible to use a laptop as a second screen but I am not sure if it can be used as the primary screen, so any sort of help would be appreciated or just telling me it's not possible would be just as fine so I won't worry about what I can do. | Presumably you have a Windows operating system of some sort. If you have Network Interface Cards on both machines you can make a two-machine network with a simple cross-over Ethernet cable, or use a mini-hub if you plan to add more machines at a later date. All these things are very cheap. That way you can share resources on both machines and can effectively log in from one machine to the other. You can also use the parallel printer ports for commuication but a network connection is better. |
