| [QUOTE]Originally Posted by noam: i'll trade you.. i got a gw account with 5 lvl 20's rp with great gear i think its green :P also have alot of gold on the w/mo.. my msn is: noam_l@netvision.net.il [/QUOTE] by the way, this guy i believe is a scammer. he contacted me on IM and told me he wanted to see my chars in-game (so he obviously already plays wow). i then told him that would be pretty hard, and asked if he had even read my posting (at which he said yes). then i said, well "why dont you know that my account is inactive and i cant login then?" so he changed his answer and said "ok i didnt read all of it". up to that point he had been drilling me on questions regarding the account, characters, especially the money i had on it etc, and what the info about wowglider and such. when i asked him some more about GW, he just said "ya i have 5 lvl 20's" so i asked what cl@sses or what kind of end game gear he had if any and he changed subject to keep asking me about my account. when it was apparent i couldnt, obviously, login to show him my chars (account isnt active) he started accusing me of being a scam. at that point i got a bit pissed off because already up to that point he had only asked me questions and offered no answers, but i then offered that if he wanted to pay the activation fee, i could give him the login info and he could pay it but that i wouldnt give him access to the account yet and would have p@ssword reset once it was activated, at which point i could login and show him chars. i said this would obviously not be very good for him because i only want to trade after ive seen his GW account so he might lose $15 out of it, but if he really wanted to see my chars ingame, it was his choice. i told him all of this up front so there'd be no misunderstanding. at this he just kept saying "you sound like a scam, you sound like a scam" so by that point after about 10 minutes of talking to him i just said "well guess what, i dont want to trade with you then, youve offered no more info havent answered my questions, ive spent 10 minutes answering yours, and now youre calling *ME* the scammer???" please ban his forum account, he is definitely a scam, he wouldnt even show me a screenshot of his GW, and he is claiming to have 5 lvl20s with all expansions. hmmm....just seems like a bit odd/convenient of a number, and he wouldnt even back any of it up and then when i wont give him my account info up front without getting any info from him he calls me a scam and logs off. |

| Considering that you didn't loose anything, you didn't get scammed. You're new to ANet and he's been here a while. Careful on calling someone a scammer, especially when no trade occurred. [/QUOTE] sorry but thats bullsh!t, and ill stop using anet then for that matter doesnt make a difference to me. he was obviously a scammer, i dont care if he's been here 40 posts longer than me or not, that should make no difference. i am careful with my accusations, and this one i had plenty of proof for. its rediculous that you would even imply that id have to first get SCAMMED in order for you to take action. isnt the whole point in rooting out scammers to catch them BEFORE they do their damage? no trade occurred because it was too obvious to me that he w@sscamming. if you catch a thief break into your home at night and he runs away, oh, well, i guess you cant do anything because nothing w@sstolen, right? nice logic there, i dont agree with it sadly. thats just retarded. i guess i wont post here anymore then, its probably full of scammers. |

| First, I am not implying, nor did I say that you first had to "get scammed" in order to take action. ANet has had issues with people calling others "scammers" all to freely. In re-reading your description of what happened, it appears to me that there may have been miscommunication - i.e. noam not realizing your account was inactive, and wanting to see the character ingame. [since I don't play WOW, I'm not familiar if it's possible or not to show a character ingame or not - based on previous posts, it appears that at least screenshots are possible] My decision not to ban him at your request was also based on the fact there have been no prior complaints about him. Trust me - if there are multiple complaints about someone, or if someone violates forum rules, they're toast. and no its not possible to take screenshots of a game you cant login to because its not an active acct...i wouldve @ssumed thats fairly obvious, to anyone, regardless if theyve played the game.
i even provided link to stats on my characters on blizzards armory site.
wasnt good enough, he just wanted my cd keys, username, p@ssword....
