Hi, I'm having problems downloading software using my broadband internet connection, on both my PC and Laptop (specs below), in both firefox 2.0.0.4 & ie7. PC & Laptop connected (not simultaenously) into one Netgear DG834 v3 router. All downloads end up incomplete, saved to desktop, so when I run them a msg pops up saying either file is corrupt (when using firefox), or not a valid win32 app (when using ie7). and thus doen't proceed with processing the file. Eg I try to download on PC using firefox - latest forceware graphics driver from nvidia website (being 94.24 in my case) to replace the currently installed previous vers for my Geforce 6200: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24 I select English Uk in International box, then tick the legal blah, and click download now. I get the usual confirmation popup in firefox asking whether i want to download it, i click save, and it downloads instantly! - This shouldn't happen for a start - my broadband can't download a 58Mb file that quiclky. Then i minimise firefox & its download manager, and double click on the file saved on my desktop. (info: size of file on desktop from its properties is 839kb?! ) License agreement comes up, I accept, click next. Confirm suggested location for install & click next. Then the installer "reads contents of package" & stops installation suddenly, saying: "contents of this file can't be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again..." As mentioned above this occurs in both browsers, on both my computers, and for any download. PC Specs - Custom built, Win XP Pro sp2, Socket 734 A7V400 mx se mobo, AMD Sempron 3000+ 2GHz, 1 Gig ram, Geforce 6200. Laptop Specs - Toshiba Tecra A2, Intel Pentium Mobile Centrino 1.5 GHz, 1Gb ram, Intel onboard graphics. Need @ssistance & suggestions of what I should do to be able to download sofware properly again. Ty.

If it's happening to both the PC and laptop, it's your connection. Either an issue with the router you're using, or with the ISP (either the DHCP server you connect to, or the modem). I'd start by contacting them and avising them of the issue, and ask them to check the server you connect to. If they give you a hard time telling you that it's your computer, remind them that its happening on both a desktop and laptop. ---------------------------------------------- Work is for people who don't know how to surf Gateway Performance 700C - P4 1.8gz, 1gig RAM, nVidia 5200; SB Audigy SE; Windows Vista Business, Photoshop CS2, Nikon D200 and D100
