This is by design.
WIndows xp home edition will not sure the administrator account, either will xp pro. Only admin accounts and limited accounts show up on the welcome screen, other accounts are ignored. However, if you make a username that is before administrator, xp will show the admin account. For instance if you make user account "aaaa" itll show the administrator account. If you have xp pro you can login to the admin account by pressing ctrl alt del twice, and typing it in. -gosh |

I tried the reghack on a clean install of xp home oem, it didnt work. The key was there, but administrator was missing. Even if i typed in administrator it didnt work, however i could show the helpassistant account.
I think your confuzing this with xp pro. XP pro allows you to login to administrator in regular mode, in xp home you cannot. On xp pro at the welcome screen you just press ctrl alt del twice, type in administrator, and click ok. No need for a reghack. -gosh |
