hi all, i have been facing this problem for a very long time now but for the life of me i can't understand or find a solution or prevention to it. it happens on many of my computers at work, on random occasions running WindowsXP and it also happens at home on my Vista. the problem is, "sometimes" i lose connectivity to the internet, msn cannot connect just like i was not connected to the internet, my browser cannot open any page at all, weird enough in the cmd prompt i can ping www.yahoo.com i can ping www.google.com but all my applications can't see the internet, restarting my router does not help, only restarting the computer. this can happen twice a day or once a week, there is no pattern that i can see or a relationship to any application or activity. is this a known issue? does anyone experience anything like this? is there some way around it other than restarting the computer? and yes i tried ipconfig /renew /release /flushdns, disable and enable the LAN connection and the windows firewall and all that good stuff.
