I'm running an active \ passive cluster (w2k3 sp1 ) with file shares across 24 volumes with each volume equaling about 300Gb, all full of 1KB files.
Issue is that some shares, not at share root but deeper down in the directories will come back with an error: "Not enough server storage available to process this command". We have to fail the node over for it to work properly again. Free space is around 6 GB.
Anyone know what would cause this?

DId you try this?

Are the folder/files names long?
The reason I ask, is that there is a limit to how deep you can go...
