Hey everybody! I'm sorry if this problem has already been posted! Me and my mate can't connect through Live, either by Private Chat or by joining games either way. We can however send messages both voice and text. The strange thing is, I can connect to any of my other friends, and he to his. Weird! I have a Netgear Next WNR834B router, and my mate has a Netgear 108mbps WGT624 v2. We're not that technically astute, but we're guessing perhaps one of us (or both) have some setting on one of our routers to say "You can't connect to me!" I hope I explained that ok, can anybody help?!? Please! Thanks! Jimbo

Your friend has an xbox live approved router and you do not. Test your network connection and see if you are operating with a strict NAT. I have a similar problem since my Linksys WRT54G got struck by lightning and I replaced it with the latest model, the WRT54G2. My NAT is now strict, and I cannot connect with some friends, host matches in multiplayer games, or hear some people in a room. I have tried running a DMZ zone, forwarding ports, and burning incense and chanting. It seems that the only thing that I have left to do is purchase another router. I hope that this helps you to avoid the many frustrations that I have endured in obtaining this knowledge. ---------------------------------------------- Newbs are ignorant, but knowledge can change that. Idiots are idiots, and nothing can change that.
