how about posting what article you're following.

all you do is update the bios or do an in place repair. And btw, you dont need to use regedt32 in xp, just regedit.

oh lol, that thread was a mess, totally wrong.

Like i said what you need to do is an in place repair, bios update, or copy the driver.cab file.

To do an in place repair you boot from the xp cd, select enter, f8, then r for repair.

To copy the driver.cab file, copy it from <cdrom>:\i386\drivers.com to C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386

That will resolve your issue. Dont do that crap in the other thread.
