here's my opinion-

Search for a known file your missing, for example if your missing crap.mp3, search the hard drive for crap.mp3. If you find it then all your other crap will probably be in the same location. Then just copy over the crap to your new crap folder. Hint: when you search make sure you click on advanced options, and check the box for subfolders. By default search campanion wont do that.

If you cant find your crap then it's gone. But that doesnt make sense because when you delete an account, by default your crap will be copied to your current user's desktop, so it should be there if you did things right.

In the future backup your data to avoid this mess, with cd burners costing $60 there's no excuse for not backing up critical data.
