Microsoft has announced the pricing scheme for the various versions of its new Windows 7 operating system pricing. And once again, Microsoft is insisting on confusing some folks. At the same time, Apple offers a relatively easy pricing plan for its upcoming Snow Leopard operating system.

I pre-ordered several W7 upgrades. I found $49 and $99 per license to be very clear.

The upgrade price of Ultimate is also very clear..... Ultimate is dead, Windows 8 will not have such edition and MS intentionally did not offer any early discount on that specific edition to discourage people from buying it.

Ultimate may be the only version on TechNet though. We'll have to wait and see...
