Microsoft seeks a name for its new Office Web Apps suite
Time: 14:30 EST/19:30 GMT | News Source: | Posted By: Kenneth van Surksum

Microsoft is surveying potential customers as to what it should name its forthcoming Office Web Applications suite.

As LiveSide.Net is reporting, among the handful of Office Web Apps brand names under consideration are Microsoft Ensemble, Microsoft Optro, Microsoft ArcLight, Microsoft Offsite and Microsoft Equipt. (Yes, they are in the midst of killing off the current Equipt subscription service. But why let an already trademarked name go to waste?)

I like "Office Web". It dpesn't have enough syllables for an MS product. How about "Microsoft Office 2010 Internet Connection Online Applications Support and Productivity Suite, Middle Class Edition"?

No chance of seeing you all on Comedy Central anytime soon. Hope you all are planning on keeping your day jobs . . .

Whatever they name it, it will be an eventual mutli billion dollar product like the many many products that Micorosft has created over the last quarter century. But, you all knew that already, didn't you!

#9: While I do not disagree that it could be a success I wonder how this could be already stated as a fact; while MS has indeed developed many successfull products they also had, like everybody else I would add, many flops.

#9: Yep, I'm sure it will scale the highest heights just like the following beloved, award-winning MS products/features:

- Windows ME
- Bob
- Clippy
- SPOT watches
- Zune
- MSN
- Windows Vista
- DOS 4.0

With that pedigree, MS can't possibly fail.
