Microsoft touts groundbreaking 'clip-on' for Active Directory | |

Microsoft will pass out beta code Wednesday it hopes will define the next evolution of directories. It's a modular add-on that is built on a database and designed to add querying capabilities and performance never before possible in a directory.

| #3 Basically a COM+ addin and schema extension to Active Directory (or ADAM/LDS) to allow you to store roles (based on an application -> operation -> task hierarchy). Its been available for over 5 years or so now and Microsoft seem to have done fug all with it... and it doesn't appear that too many other people have either given that any decent documentation is either from 2004, 2006 or 2007 and that's using the word decent in the same way that you'd describe Windows Explorer performance viewing directories with hundreds of video files! |
