Microsoft has just posted a new Microsoft Processor Driver Version 5.1.2600.28 on the Windows XP Windows Update website. The download size is 32 KB but there is no description of the file. If you know what it is, do tell!

The one I'm still puzzled about is the Network adapter that shows up that says it's from Xircom technology. I'm puzzled because I have an Intel NIC. :-)
I've not been impressed by their descriptions, and I'm a bit leary to go downloading things that don't have good descriptions attached to them. This is an area for Microsoft to improve upon.

I've got a PIII and it showed up for me... not difference in performace or anything that I've noticed.
