According to a french website, "TousLesDrivers.Com", Microsoft is about to stop certifying drivers for its old Windows operating systems that are Windows 98SE, Windows NT 4.0 Workstation and Windows NT 4.0 Server. This new move will allow faster WHQL drivers' certification for Microsoft's leading operating systems Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

I think it would be best to remain with NT4 WHQL for another couple of years, then phase that out as well. But Dropping 98/ME support is a good thing.

Realist - Who said anything about forcing people to upgrade? Just drop support and stop talking about it.

If it's working perfectly fine, as you say, then you shouldn't have any need for ongoing support.

WHQL Certification is a joke anyways, so this is no great loss.
