  Blaster worm drives traffic to Microsoft site

The MSBlaster worm ensured that traffic to Microsoft's TechNet site rose by 1131 percent in the week which ended on August 17, data provided by Nielsen//NetRatings, a firm that deals in internet audience measurement and analysis, shows. The firm said the spread of the worm that week also caused a big increase in traffic to the sites of anti-virus software vendors.

Interesting. If that had only happened the week before, Blaster and Welchia probably wouldn't have caused too many problems.
