This "Project Center" concept looks VERY cool!
Anyone heard what the upgrade fee will be? I think that will be a deciding factor in the acceptance of this upgrade. Let's face it, Office V.x is awesome as it is, and there has to be a real compelling reason to upgrade. That may be there, but the price has to be right.
The new releases of Mac Office tend to leap-frog the PC version by a considerable margin, and from what I've read around the net the last couple of days this may be the same here.

CRN had an article last week about how Office 2003 SP1 is due around May, and how in addition to the usual fixes, OneNote and InfoPath will see significant enhancements, but that's it. The Longhorn version would potentially come out in the second half of next year, so there's no way they would do any kind of tweener version that's not an Office 2003 SP.

"#2, Because it is a newer version of Office. Also, the thing I see that can't be done with Excel 2003 is the semitransparent data elements. I don't really know why MS didn't put that in Excel 2003, XP and 2000 (which are the only operating systems it will run on) both support transparencies."
The first OS X version had it too. It's called: the app is using the capabalities of Aqua, and despite what progress Windows has made towards adding better graphic elements to GDK+ and DX9, the APIs to easily create such "drawing" effects is not easy to do in Windows apps yet without doing it in a custom way; Aqua makes it very easy to do in any OS X app.
