Critical Update for Microsoft Data Access Components - Disable ADODB.Stream object from Internet Explorer - Win9x (KB870669)
Time: 11:25 EST/16:25 GMT | News Source: Microsoft | Posted By: Jonathan Tigner

Adodb.stream provides a method for reading and writing files on a hard drive. This by-design functionality is sometimes used by web applications. However, when combined with known security vulnerabilities in Microsoft Internet Explorer, it could allow an internet web site to execute script from the Local Machine Zone (LMZ). This occurs because the ADODB.Stream object allows access to the hard drive when hosted within Internet Explorer.

Hmm it's too bad that Microsoft is officially dropping support for 9x soon, I think WinME is the last one to go...

I'm sure they are aching to put that code base away forever along with NT as well

they should support that platform for those who don't want to make microsoft's bank account even fatter with their "new" products

This December there will be much more to celebrate than just the holidays where we do well to one another! Microsoft would do well to drop Millennium Edition. The millennium ended YEARS ago.

Well, maybe you can start a open source support for ME then Msucks.
