We did a test with RC2 and it works great. Very solid SP and performance is top notch.

MS did a great job with this and a great service to all users and businesses.

I am very pleased with how MS has managed ActiveX and other COM Client control - an excellent balance between usability and security.

One note, some AV SW, will falsely report that it is not enabled/running for restricted users.
We've noted this opposite some AV Vendor programs - Panda Platinum and Titanium.

#1,

You have the procedure for that (and maintaining a bootable disk) ?

I had it but lost it somewhere along the way.

I'm concerned about Novell...

The last two machines I put it on had the "My Network Places" functionality busted.

skulhedface's responses make about as much sense as Georgie's campaign speeches.

TechLarry: A procedure for slipstreaming SP2 (it also worked for sp1a) into Windows XP can be downloaded as a PDF at:

http://jandrpc.com/slipstream.htm

I believe Microsoft has a slightly different procedure (and possibly a slipstream aid) on their Partners web site.

I'll remove the page in a few days since it will have served its purpose by then.

Ok Bob, got it. Thanks!

Thanks for all the input guys :)

The slip-streaming part wasn't too hard. It was the part about retaining bootability that escaped me. It was a lot easier in the Win9x days :)

TechLarry: The link to download ISObuster is http://www.smart-projects.net/isobuster/

ISObuster is used to extract the file from the original install CD that makes it bootable.
