Thanks to Mr T who let us know that Internet Explorer 7 Beta 1 for Windows XP with SP2 has been released onto MSDN for download.

"The first stage of the beta process for Internet Explorer 7 has begun—developer testing! The latest version of the world’s most popular Web browser has been released for technical evaluation, feedback, and testing by software and Web site developers. The Beta 1 release signals that Internet Explorer 7 has reached an important milestone, with a number of key new features and improvements, and is ready for website and application compatibility testing. This release is specifically intended for developers to confirm that existing applications and websites will work well with Internet Explorer 7, and provides an opportunity for developers to give feedback directly to the development team. There will be further refinement between Beta 1 and the final version. Beta 1 is not intended for broad consumer trial and evaluation but it does offer a preview of some of the benefits that Internet Explorer 7."

Been running it since last night and all day today. No problems what so ever. Some RSS feeds are not recognized (because of the xml/url from the site). I would say this is the most bug free release of an IE beta yet.

yeah I'd have to say I'm a bit puzzled by the buggy comments, I've been using it since last night and have had no issues at all and have done plenty of surf'n...seems real nice and stable for me.

A visit to the IE beta newsgroup also supports my claim that this has been a very stable release.

janderson!777: hopefully you reported your IE7 issues to Microsoft so the root cause can be determined on their end if the same problem happens to enough beta users to work on it early.
