Microsoft Technical Beta Invitation for Office "12" Sent
Time: 10:56 EST/15:56 GMT | News Source: ActiveWin.com | Posted By: Robert Stein

Due to your interest in Microsoft Office Systems, the Microsoft Office Product Team would like to invite you to complete a brief nomination survey to be used in selecting participants for the Office "12" Technical beta. Completion of this survey does not guarantee enrollment in the Office Technical beta. The Office "12" Technical Beta is currently scheduled to begin in the late Fall/early Winter timeframe. Our goal is to have a well targeted group of testers willing to actively participate and provide useful feedback to our development team. Carefully consider your willingness and ability to test Microsoft Office "12" as your feedback will be critical to the success of our product. Regular and consistent participation throughout the program is expected. If you are not able to commit to providing high quality technical feedback, this technical beta is not for you. Instead please register for the preview beta which will begin in 2006 by going to the following link: If you are selected as a Technical beta tester, you will be asked to: . Download Office "12" software and related information . Participate in private beta newsgroups . Submit bug reports online . Complete periodic surveys to share your input on various technical issues

Note: Participation in the Office "12" Technical beta does not guarantee gratuity to all participants who are accepted. For example, copies of Office 12 final product are not automatically distributed to all participants at the end of the technical beta. This program is a volunteer effort by participants for the mutual benefit of you/your organization and the Microsoft Office team to enable feedback on your testing of 'real world' usage scenarios, and improvement of the final product. Please do not contact us regarding the status of your nomination. Simply complete the nomination form and you will be contacted if you are chosen to participate in the Technical Beta. Thank You, Office Customer/Partner Team

Is this the "catch all" Beta sign-up request survey or is there a specific Guest ID for Office 12 Technical Beta ??

There's a specific guest ID.

We have been down this path many times. We were official Beta Testers in Office 11, Media Center 2005, Tablet PC SP1, OneNote, and now Maestro ... other than "hope" that of the millions that try to get in and are not developers like us ... do you have any suggestions ... is their someone we could email directly ?? Most likely there is still an "application" that needs to be filled out even with a Guest ID ??

In addition to the guest id, that ask you to fill out a survey, which is business/corporate in nature.

#3, You might try tracking down an Office blog and then emailing whoever is in charge. Also, a broader beta will open up for Office 12 in early 2006... With the way MS is doing their betas now, there's pretty much no human contact... no way to more or less explain your case (unless you track down someone associated with the product)... however, they've been doing a lot more community technical previews, so all is not lost. Hope that helps some...
