Brandon leBlanc writes:LiveSide last week mentioned the naming confusion of Windows Live’s online mapping system - which was previously being called Windows Live Local. With the last update, it was listed as “Maps” in the Live Search toolbar. Is it in the process of becoming the well-suggested Windows Live Maps?

Give me a break, this thing is only cool if you live in a major city.
1. Why can't we good satellite maps of tropical islands? God darn it, I work hard all day. Why can't I take a 5 minute break and check out some local beach action of Jamaica?
2. you would think that Microsoft would make this integrate with a pocket pc better. I expected to see a button "download to pocket PC". A couple of weekends ago I wanted to download travel direction from Detroit airport to East Lansing and couldn't. But guess what maps.google.com had that button right there.
3. Or for gods sakes, why do we need to download an active x component? why can't they just use Ajax?
