An exploit has been found in the wild for a Word vulnerability Microsoft patched on Oct. 9.
Symantec said in a posting on Oct. 10 that it had gotten its hands on a Word for Mac document that contains shell code and three pieces of malware.
The file kept crashing Symantec's Word programs—with the exception of Office 2007—until the security company determined that it had been created using Word for Macintosh.

If this is a Macro Virus, I don't think it is platform specific.
It could be created in any platform version of Word I'd think.

Of course when it's a buggy third-party app running on Windows, zealots put the blame on Windows and not the app. So where are those zealots now, putting the blame on Mac OS and not the app?
