One focus that Microsoft has slated for Windows 8 in particular is a total revamp of WTT (Windows Test Technologies), which are the technologies leveraged to test Windows.

Based on this (fwiw, of course), it sounds like anyone expecting a significant UI redesign in Windows 7 will be disappointed. But who knows.

One would really hope, though, that they will start exploiting WPF themselves. Where are the WPF apps?!

#2, We're just going to have to build our own... and doing that.

I don't get it.... it really is a heck of a lot faster than any previous method...

Now... getting UI/UX guys and others across the -n tier to move away from what they know... that is hard.

We're doing that and I can share, it is work for all to begin to think differently... or is it that we're just "comfortable"

I think this will take a few years for our industry to change - young people are more important and relevant than ever.

Enterprise enterprise enterprise! No other world exists. Seems like MS has entirely lost its direction now, even worse than Vista. All this "grand stuff planned" doesn't seem to be about a computer operating system.

Send the bean counters home and put the people working in R&D in charge.
Do it sooner than later or someone will do to them what they did to IBM.
