Why are INI files deprecated in favor of the registry? There were many problems with INI files. |

I will take:
A program that keeps INI files, it's code, libraries and other droplets in it's OWN program folder any day over what we have now. I don't care if it uses more space. Really, I don't. The "All eggs in one basket" Registry is an abomination IMHO. Having to reimage an entire machine because one app cannot be fixed due to registry problems (and it happens often), is just annoying as hell. MS Office or SAV are the usual culprits in these cases. If all their shit was in their OWN bag, it would be easy to fix that one app. I have hated the registry since the day it emerged. TL |

| Not to mention just making it 10x easier to configure stuff from the command line or to edit a programs settings. |
