Apple® today announced it sold its one millionth iPhone™ 3G on Sunday, just three days after its launch on Friday, July 11. iPhone 3G is now available in 21 countries—Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US—and will go on sale in France on July 17.
“iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”

Lemmings. These same people are going to be broke in their retirement years wondering where all of their money went.

Tell this to former Enron employees.
Besides it is depends from your persective: I see all these people here who get applications crippled, Sim-locked phones as lemmings.
About the iPhone my office in Europe ordered a 16GB, Sim free iPhone for me and the cost was the same of an unlocked HTC Diamond I bought in the US one month ago.

#2 - you're right... here in Australia, the data traffic calculations are laughable!! one guy that did not sign up for a data plan on his new iPhone is looking at AU$32,000 PER HOUR of internet browsing!!!!!
Just because he got an iPhone with a voice only contract "he didn't know you needed a data plan as well"
No wonder the TelCo's love the iPhone!
